Now they are just objects of hatred. It will take many years to undo the damage that has been done. Riverbend's post illustrates just how badly wrong the situation has gone in Iraq

She used to be able to see the US troops as young confused and far from home.

Now they are just objects of hatred.

It will take many years to undo the damage that has been done.

And some of us are going to get killed because "we look like Americans"
