Our Quaker book on Israel/Palestine--finally!
Finally! After long labors, the book-length report that 14 of us--nearly all Quakers--have written on the Israel/Palestine situation is out. (Quaker process takes a famously long time, but we did it.)
It is called, When the Rain returns: Toward Justice and Reconciliation in Palestine and Israel, and it is being published by the American Friends Service Committee, Philadelphia. AFSC still doesn't have a downloadable order form on their website. Tsk, tsk. Pending the moment that they get one up, I did some scanning of the hard-copy brochure they sent me. So now you can download and print the following items:

I'm sorry the scanned files there both look so lame. I couldn't even figure out how to upload the portions of the brochure where people make nice comments about the book... "This book has a richness and texture in taking the story of the people and the dimensions of the conflict beyond its borders", etc etc. I'll try to figure out something better, later.
The book itself looks pretty good, which is the main thing.
It's a full-size book, with lots of great maps, etc. The cover price of $15 is a steal for a whole book these days.
I am just really, really happy the book is out. If any of you has any ideas on where AFSC might send review copies, let me know.
How about a sample chapter or excerpt? Is the thesis that Israelis and Palestinians should change heart? Or that there is a specific political formula that will work without waiting for such a miracle?
As the old saying goes, "Quakers are great. Too bad there are just too few of them!"
John, I added in the Table of Contents there. We authors are still working out with AFSC some details re additional promo materials and activities, and also how much of the work we authors can "use" on our own accounts.
